Today’s featured artist is a duo hailing from Utah named Seve vs. Evan. Consisting of mainly a keyboard and drums, their songs sound like sweet awesome with some kitschy verses thrown into the mix. Today’s video features their song ‘Destination Tokyo’ which was featured in a Burton Snowboarding clip.

Another song of their’s that I very much like is called ‘Lady Lady’ which can be heard at the following site, along with the option to purchase their debut album (Steam Powered Rocket Ship): myspace.com/sevevsevan

To play their online video game which features tracks of their tunes in the background: www.sevevsevan.net

For today’s featured artist I am pleased to present The Terrordactyls.

The Terrordactyls are a duo (formerly a quartet) hailing from Washington state. Their head-swaying songs, filled with out-of-tune kazoo harmonizing, and a plinking toy piano, make coloring outside the lines more fun.

The song I will be posting is called ‘Devices’ and is accompanied by Kimya Dawson doing the guest vocals.

More information on The Terrordactyles and to purchase their album, hear their songs, and check out their customized kazoo’s (which they sell for $3.00 each) can be found at: http://www.terrordactyls.com

*Please note: This video seems to be the only one they created for this song. I will update the video if I come across a better one.

Featured Artist: Phoebe Kreutz

Phoebe Kreutz hails from the East Village section of New York City. Her music is mostly indie-folk but she often refers to it as antifolk. She is in fact a crucial part of the Antifolk movement in itself. Her songs usually focus on important things like: boys, bars, vikings, Elizabeth the first, and tacos.

Phoebe’s sweet little tunes and smarty-pants lyrics are accompanied by her spiky strumming of the acoustic guitar. Phoebe is also a member of the world’s greatest art-indie-rock band that only sings about animals in the city, Urban Barnyard.

Phoebe currently has two cd’s out (Big Lousy Moon) and (Pretty, Pretty Stupid) which can be purchased at: http://www.olivejuicemusic.com/ojstoredistro.html

*Sidenote: Phoebe is one of my favorite artists at the moment so I will be posting two videos of her as opposed to only one video which is what I normally post. The first song I will be posting is titled ‘The Ballad of Throat Culture’. It is an epic song however it does have some pretty excessive language and topics so if your not into it, I suggest listening to the second video instead. The second video I will be posting is titled ‘Love in the 7th Grade’. It is a sweet little track with a witty storyline.

Featured Artist: St. Mannequins

I am pleased to present today’s featured artist, the St. Mannequins. The St. Mannequins duo hails from New York City and is an eclectic indie-folk-rock band. Many of the instruments they use are miniature, such as ‘baby pianos’, ‘baby accordians’, and colorful xylophones.

The St. Mannequins’ child-like lyrics are insanely silly, and yet they have just as much sweetness as the gooey-center of strawberry candies. Their songs overflow with nifty and clever metaphores and goofy little similies, that leave the listener cheery and wanting more. Their music video’s portray them dancing, and singing, and spinning, and twirling. It is in fact, their feel-good vibe which adds the rainbow sprinkles on top of their musical cupcake.

Featured Artist: Liv Carrow

Liv Carrow is a Folk and Indie musician who hails from the Brooklyn area in New York City. Her songs are like the little animals that 4-year-olds make out of play-doh; lumpy yet distinguishable in form, rudimentary to the point of psychedelic complexity, dry and crumbly on the outside but “all kinds of squishy” on the inside. The mysterious and oddly lovable bassist from the band Huggabroomstik takes the scenic back road to your heart with her clever observations on life, death, love, health food, human reproduction, geography, the unseen world of the earth, spirits, cosmic currents, awkward crushes, metaphysics, and despair. Liv performs frequently in New York City and the surrounding area as a solo acoustic act and as an accompaniment for Huggabroomstik.

Liv’s debut album “It’s About Time” can be purchased through Olive Juice Music at: http://olivejuicemusic.com/ojstore.html.
